Technically, semi-permanent micro-pigmentation is considered permanent because the colour is implanted into the upper dermal layer of the skin and cannot be washed off.
Typically brows last 12-18 months, depending on skin type (normal, oily, dry) and age (youthful/mature). Important to keep in mind is your skincare routine as it will also affect the lasting effect of pigment: clients who tan, uses products with AHA or Glycolic Acid with fade faster as your skin will resurface faster.
Oily skin does not hold pigment as well as other skin types. Strokes may not heal as crisp and clients may experience less pigment retention. An additional session may also be required to perfect it.
We use a topical anaesthetic on the treatment area to make the treatment as comfortable as possible. Under the QLD Health Regulation clients are required to purchase the anaesthetic themselves. We have partnered with a compounder so during your consult time you will have a 3-5 minute phone call with the pharmacist to ensure the product is best for you. Anaesthetic will be posted directly to Bella Brows ready for you when you come in for both initial and touch up appointments.
WHAT TO EXPECT DIRECTLY AFTER APPOINTMENT?
Any redness, discomfort or swelling will settle down after about 24 hours. It is also normal for the colour to appear quite bold for the first few days, after which it will fade to the perfect intensity. The pigment can fade up to 50% in the first seven days. After approximately 3 days you may experience flaking skin in the eyebrows but this will be gone within a week.
The most important thing to do post treatment is to keep the brows and brow area completely dry for a FULL 7 days. No water, oil or makeup.
